CEMA’s Hurricane Preparedness Week

May 6-12, 2018 is Hurricane Preparedness Week for Chatham County!  This week is dedicated to helping our community prepare for the upcoming 2016 hurricane season, which begins on June 1.

Message from CEMA:

According to Colorado State University, there is an increased probability of a slightly above average Hurricane Season for 2018. Our goal is that through participating in Hurricane Preparedness Week, our community will be able to grow in their preparedness and resilience.

Each day will focus on a specific task that you can do to help your family prepare:
• Sunday: Determine Your Risk
• Monday: Develop an Evacuation Plan
• Tuesday: Assemble Disaster Supplies
• Wednesday: Get an Insurance Check Up
• Thursday: Strengthen Your Home
• Friday: Help Your Neighbor
• Saturday: Complete a Written Plan

Stay tuned throughout the week for tips on what you can do to protect your family! Stay informed before, during and after an event by following CEMA on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram @ChathamEMA. If you would like to receive alerts via text message, text “Follow ChathamEMA” to 40404
